Ristorante Zingarò... 20 years together

Ristorante Zingarò is located in an ancient neoclassical palace in the historic centre of Faenza: Palazzo Ferniani.

The Ferniani family residence was built in the mid-18th century to a design by the Bolognese architect Alfonso Torreggiani as an extension of the adjacent older palazzo.

The beautiful marble statue of the Immaculate Conception was placed in the corner of the building, the work of the Bolognese Ottavio and Nicola Toselli (1752). Inside, the rooms have retained their original setting (the fixtures, the glass, the terracotta flooring, the Rococo frames) and the magnificent decorations and grotesques that make this space unique and refined.

Carlo Giuffrè, a well-known Neapolitan actor and director (who passed away in 2018) who was a regular customer of the restaurant during his theatre tours, recounted that he had already been to Faenza in the early post-war period hosted by Countess Ottavia Ferniani, not as a diner, but to perform a monologue in this very part of the palazzo, which was used as a theatre at the time. The building is protected by the Archaeological, Fine Arts and Landscape Superintendence for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini.

The tradition of Romagna is at the heart of our food and wine offering, enhanced by special attention to detail, the authenticity of the raw materials at zero kilometre from the respect for traditional recipes, and the extensive use of typical local products.

The Ristorante Zingarò ethos is a unique and successful formula that has worked for 20 years. 

Here you will find your table set and cared for down to the smallest detail and it is here that we serve the best of authentic local cuisine.

Tagliatelle with shallots, Chianina fillet, roast potatoes and Romagna cream are just some of what we have to offer, to be accompanied by glasses of excellent wine such as Sangiovese. 

Zingarò pizza

In addition to Romagna cuisine, our restaurant is also renowned for its excellent pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. 

We prepare different types of dough using only and exclusively local, unrefined ancient grain flours such as wholemeal flour, spelt flour, and 7-grain flour. We also strictly use first-rate ingredients for the seasonings.
